A Little Pebble

Looking through her things at a slow, leisurely pace, her trembling hand picks up what she wanted. A dark blue bag, the color of the midnight sky, wagged in her hand. These pebbles were needed by the people from time to time, and always fit. It was as if she were magic, but it was the pebbles that were. Ari's Grandma was an ordinary grandmother. The pebbles, however, were not. These were seeds of a mystical plant, very rare, varying in size, apt to conditions between hard rocks and never to deteriorate like other pebbles. These seeds had a special shell that was harder than stone, so that it could protect the mysterious plant inside. The only resaon these traits were looked upon as magical is Ari's Grandmother always picked out just the right one. She hoped this was true for what she was about to do.

Taking one of the seeds from the pouch, she put it in a shallow hole behind the house, which she had dug with a stick difficultly. Hoping the seed would grow in such a shallow hole, she burried it, a tiny bit poking out and facing the sun. It looked like an ordinary pebble in the ground. Sprinkling it with water, she willed the white rose to grow.

Uh huh, uh huh... That's right honey She said in a nurturing voice.

((*shot* I just wanted Ari to stop dieing. Let's hope that flower grows fast.
